Heres To A Year Of Better Habits, Positive Thinking, Clean Eating, And Most Importantly, LOVING YOURSELF!

"Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step." For the last couple of month's i've been tip toeing towards my health goals. I't's hard to take the leap of faith to dive into a strict clean eating and organic nutrient based diet. Some people can jump in and swim just fine, but I need gentle coaxing to help me make healthier choices in my diet. I tried Whole30 for a day or two....it did not go well. I couldn't manage going cold turkey and it soon became apparent that it was not the "diet plan" for me. 

Ugh can we all just roll our eyes together each time I or someone else say's diet!?! I hate that word. K hate is a strong word, but I really REALLY don't like it. Isn't funny how a simple word can effect your life? That cruel and raging word dictated my thoughts and actions for years. I refuse to let it define my worth any longer. I have a daughter to think of and in no way do I EVER want her to feel that she has to change her body to be loved and feel beautiful. I want to be a positive roll model to her, I dont want her to remember a mother who was constantly counting calories and jumping on the scale every morning. I want her to know that I loved my body enough to treat it right. That you can exercise, eat healthy and still have your cake too. 

It's the little choices we make everyday that define us, it's cliche but true. It's my small steps towards a healthier lifestyle that's making waves for my family and I. My husband loves to tell me that Football is a game of inches, not yards. Its all about the small steps, the inches, the tip toeing towards the end zone that decides the champion. We all deserve to be champions of our bodies. So whether your running, leaping, or taking your healthy lifestyle one step at a time... you've got this girl! Dont give up on yourself, keep heading in the right direction and you will go far.

When I think of my beauty routines I dont have a set pattern per se but when I find a product I like I consistently use it.  I'm no beauty expert, I cant tell you to do steps 1 2 3 to create healthy glowing skin, but I do dabble enough to know what I'm talking about. I mostly use it as a lotion replacement for myself and family. I focused on using the balm for my feet and hands since thats where I needed the most love. Specifically my cuticles, palms, heels and balls of the feet. I live in a pretty dry climate and if I don't apply some type of balm or moisturizer, I'm gonna have pretty dry hands and feet by the end of the day. To get the most out of my Lavender Balm, I would apply it directly to my body after I showered focusing on my hands first then slowly I would work it into my feet. I love the fresh Lavender smell, so that was the cherry on top. I loved getting the gentle wafts of freshness throughout the day, and it helped me stay calm and feel lovely even if I was elbow deep in changing diapers or sweating buckets in a Barre class. 

Ive been really happy with how soft and pliable my skin has become. I felt great about using the product on myself and wanted the rest of my family to try it too. Both my kids have issues with Eczema and I've tried different lotions and oils over the years but most don't live up to the standard of healing I need. The only two brands i'll use for eczema relief are Aveeno's Eczema line and Makes 3 Organics body balms. I'll be honest, the directions say that a little goes a long way but I'm here to tell ya to just go ahead and lather that good stuff on haha! For post bath lotion time, i've been rubbing in my Makes 3 Organics Healing Balm from cheek to cheek and i've been seeing wonderful results. I love cuddling up to my two little rugrats before bed when they smell like Lavender. Plus the essential oils used in the balm help my kids calm down and relax for bedtime. Now I wont praise this balm for 100% of the success we've had with Brody sleeping through the night, but lets just say that since we started using the balm before bed, we have noticed a huge decrease in night time waking. Thats an issue Brody will probably always struggle with, but I think rubbing the balm on his feet really helped. Enough so that I will continue using it as part of our bedtime routine. Kid tested, mom approved. 

I would definitely recommend the Makes 3 Organics Brand, it's great for the whole family and even better for those who are environmentally conscious or have an allergy related to the ingredients used in mainstream lotion products. Ok friends, this is the best bottle brand out there! Hands down my favorite! It really helped reduce colic for both my babes and comes in cute colors like blue and pink. Yeah there’s a lot of pieces involved but trust me when I say it’s worth the extra 15 seconds of assembly to prevent another colic spit up.

Mam Pacifiers
Pacifiers are lovely, not everyone uses them but if you do Mam is where it’s at. They’ve created an orthopedic nipple that promotes good oral care at a young age. Plus the glow and the dark ones are LIFE CHANGING. That alone is the reason why I use this brand. I can't tell you how many nights I've had to search frantically for the fallen Paci, and the only peace of mind I have is when I know iv'e got an extra glow in the dark Paci in the room. I find them in 1.5 seconds, plop it in, then sneak out like a champ.

Handmade accessories for all the little loves in your life. I discovered Little Loveleigh's through Instagram, and I was so happy to comes across her shop. She hand ties, designs and creates the loveliest Bow's and Bowties for your cute little ones. So much of the holidays is about Santa and presents but not so much the reason for the season, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. This Nativity is s fun way to engage your little ones and teach them about the real meaning of Christmas. It’s our first year with ours and I have big plans to use it on Christmas Eve when we talk about Christ’s birth as a family.

I think every kid needs the perfect pup doll and Ikea has nailed it. Almost every single one of Brody’s friends has one and they love playing with their puppies together. We named ours Bailey, after my parents labradoodle, and Brody sleeps with it every night. It was a great transitional comfort item especially after we got rid of his paci and blanket. I love dogs and animals, so its especially fun for me to connect with my Son when we play pups together.

Whenever possible, support local. I happened to be up in WA when I discovered the Hatching Hen and my mommy heart did the biggest happy dance when I saw how awesome the teethers were. They have been great for my 1 year old as she went through the teething process and even better for my 4 year old who has a sensory processing disorder. Utilizing the teethers has decreased his hand biting tremendously! Cute, functional and made from safe silicone materials make this company an A+ baby shop!

You know when you have a favorite company and you just want to shout it out from the rooftops, well thats how I feel about Perfect Balance. It was a match made in Yoga heaven when I began using their line of Yoga gear. I have every item in their line and I seriously love it! I can hold positions longer with more control and balance, and I feel confident when I go into my Yoga practice. Luckaya 
As a Barre instructor its really important to utilize products that are not only functional but practical. I recommend Luckaya Barre Socks to my clients because their cute grip design and criss cross style are fun and functional. They have a secure fit and they help maintain balance and stability throughout class. My students have a stronger 5 point stance in releve and I have noticed more control when they plie in 1st and 2nd position. I highly recommend Luckaya Socks to Barrebabes of all levels!!! They are great for Barre, Pilates, Reformer and Yoga! 

Hydrojug 
A few months ago I was searching for a water bottle that would help me meet my water intake goals (a gallon a day). I needed it to not only be functional but fashionable as well. Fit Simplify Resistance Bands

As a Barre instructor its really important to utilize products that are not only functional but practical.
